What are some common misconceptions people have about accessibility or mobility-related challenges?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that accessibility only benefits people with disabilities. In reality, thoughtful, accessible design benefits everyone—including seniors, caregivers, families, and future generations.
Good design isn't just about meeting accessibility standards. It's about creating spaces that are safer, more comfortable, and easier for everyone to enjoy.
What is your long-term vision for New Alliance, and what impact do you hope it will have nationwide?
My long-term vision is to create communities that promote independence, connection, and quality of life while staying true to our mission of building communities and lasting legacies through the power of alliance and partnership.
Through New Alliance and Alliance Housing Reimagined, we're developing innovative housing solutions, including active adult communities, autism-supportive neighborhoods, and other people-centered living environments. Our flagship vision, Alliance Aurora, represents the next step in that journey.
My goal has never been simply to build buildings. It's to create communities where people feel supported, valued, and connected.
If we can demonstrate that this model improves lives, I believe it can be replicated across the Pacific Northwest and eventually throughout the country.
My hope is that the communities we build today will continue creating opportunity, connection, and dignity for generations to come. That's the legacy I want New Alliance to leave behind.
If readers remember only one thing about New Alliance after reading this interview, what would that message be?
People come first.
We believe it takes a village to build a dream. Through alliance and partnership, we turn ideas into reality, strengthen communities, and create lasting legacies that extend far beyond the projects themselves.
To me, legacy is about creating something that continues to make a positive impact long after we're gone. Whether it's a home, a business, a community, or a relationship, our goal is to leave people and places better than we found them.
Success isn't measured only by the buildings we complete. It's measured by the lives we impact, the opportunities we create, and the communities we help strengthen for generations to come.
When you're not working on New Alliance, how do you like to spend your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new development opportunities, mentoring others, and continually learning. Even outside of work, I'm drawn to projects and ideas that create a positive impact in the community.
My family is my greatest source of inspiration. They remind me every day why I'm committed to building communities that improve lives and create opportunities for future generations.
